Let’s talk about HR. One would think Human Resources person would be available or present at an orientation for new hires. This is not the case with USPS.
I’ve called trying to get answers to questions so I could make a decision on whether to sign up for their insurance or not. They didn’t know what I was talking about when I asked about a spouse-coattail. I was directed to their website to find my answers.
I bit the bullet and signed up back in January. Then I switched crafts and had to call to find out if I needed to sign up again or not. Luckily they had an answer for that question.
I called trying to get a letter for proof of insurance so my husband can drop me off of his. When I finally get a hold of someone after being on hold for longer than thirty minutes I was told to call my health care provider. I responded with “Why would I do that?” Her response was “that’s your health care provider.” I stated that I needed a letter from my employer that shows the start date of insurance coverage that will satisfy my husband’s employer requirements. Then I’m directed to log into eOPF. I had to tell the lady I didn’t know what that was. And while I was at it I told her it’s not like H.R. is at any orientation for new hires and I’m new by the way. If I can avoid calling them, I will at all costs.
